BYROM PRAISE & PRAYER – April 11, 2007
Dear praying friends & family…
Let’s just say one thing about the past month, since I wrote last…busy!! March was a busy month and now here we are already past Easter in early April. We trust all is well with you and that you had a blessed celebration of our Risen Savior.
We appreciate you standing with us in prayer. Here are some of the most recent happens we’re praising God for and also some ways you can be praying for us in the next weeks.
We praise God for…
- A great trip to with the
English
School teaching team. It was a good opportunity to talk through our ability to work together and think through the vision of the school over the next year. Plus, we had some great fun together with is always a good way to strengthen team.
- Mark’s week of traveling to
Skopje went well. There were no problems traveling and during the field leadership team meetings we were able to plan next year’s budget and talk through other aspects of ministry and organization for our missionaries here in the Balkans. It’s a blessing to see how all the ministries of the
Alliance missionaries here in the Balkans are growing and developing. It’s an exciting place to be a part of a ministry team like this!
- The seminar for recovering addicts in
Sarajevo March 1-4 went incredibly well! There was a great turn out with people coming from all over the Balkans. The speakers and seminar times were really impacting. It’s was great to help in sponsoring this event. They are anticipating having another gathering this next year.
- We continue to strengthen our relationship with the local church – there were good times to interact with local leadership this month about some thoughts and plans we have for a University Coffee House. Our time with Pastor Zoran went especially well.
- For ALPHA holding steady with many of the original group staying on through these last weeks. We haven’t seen anyone commit their lives to Christ, but we’ve seen a real strengthening of our core congregation that’s involved. P
Please pray with us…
- Mark is traveling over the next week. April 12 he is taking Petula to
Beograd for the her return to the States for a 10 month home assignment (hey, that already happened!). This weekend, April 13 & 14, Mark returns to Novi Sad, with Zoran and also Sasha form the
Tuzla
Evangelical
Church – for the second part of the leadership training seminar. Pray for impact and processing of the vision for the Tuzla EC during this time.
- Mark is traveling from April 15-19, meeting with pastors from the
Evangelical
Church in
Sarajevo , Mostar and Capljina. Pray for him as he is speaking Sunday evening and meeting individually to talk about our partnership as the C&MA in working along side the local
Evangelical
Church . Pray for wisdom and insight as he talks about some of our vision and plans for this next year.
- Pray for Petula who returned to the States for a 10 month home assignment – for good time interacting with people in all the churches she’ll be visiting.
- Pray for the new semester starting at Svjetionik and for good interaction with students – opportunities to share the Gospel. Pray for Mark and Debbie to connect with a lot of the new students (at least half of the students attending this semester are new to us!).
- Pray for our intern, Joy Haidle, during these last two weeks of her stay in BiH. It’s been a great experience for her and she’s been an important part of our team.
- Pray for us as we wrap up ALPHA pray that this next Wednesday would go well and that we’ll see the kind of fruit God intends for this first course we’ve offered. Pray for us to have good follow-up with the 5-6 seekers who have been attending and hearing the Gospel presented clearly.
Thanks for praying for our family and ministries. You’re an important part of our team!!
God bless…
Mark, Debbie, Kaelah, Jocelyn, & Laura
