The Belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14)

OPENING QUESTION:

1. They say that the truth is hard to find.  Do you believe this to be true or not?  Why?

    

DIGGING DEEPER:

1. READ Ephesians 6:13-14 & I Peter 1:13.
2. In what ways do you think truth is like a belt?  Why do you think Paul would use the soldier’s belt to illustrate truth?  Why not call the breastplate “truth”?
3. Let’s get more basic.  What is “truth”?  How would you actually define it?
4. What does Peter mean when he tells us to “prepare our minds for action”? 
5. How do we prepare our minds?
6. We learned Sunday that the word for “buckled” and the word “prepare” are the same word.  How does the truth help to prepare us for living in a world of lies?

GETTING CLOSER:

1. In Proverbs 30:5 we learn that every word of God is flawless.  Do you truly believe this?  How accurate do you believe God’s Word to be?
2. Is there any command from God’s Word that you find to be difficult to obey?

PRAYER:

1. Pray for those who shared their struggles with God’s Word.
