Follow up to our Holy Spirit Weekend

Note to the leader:  This lesson may appear to be short but do not underestimate it.  It is essential that people are given time to process their need for revival and also given time to deal with any known blocks to revival in their own lives. 

OPENING QUESTION:

1. When you hear the word “revival” what typically comes to your mind?  Why?
2. If you have been part of a revival, please share your experience with us.  What was it like?  What did you learn?  What happened?

DIGGING IN:

1. Let’s take a look at some Scriptures which talk about revival.  (Invite different people in your group to look up the following passages.)
2.  Psalm 19:7.  How does God’s Word revive our souls?  Why do our souls sometimes need reviving?  How’s your soul right now?  Are you in need of some revival?
3. Psalm 80:18-19. How does revival affect our relationship with God? 
4. Psalm 85:4-7.  Verse 6 speaks of “reviving again”.  Do you think that revival is repeatedly necessary?  Why or why not?
5. Isaiah 57:14-15.  What kind of heart does God revive?  If someone were complaining to you about our lack of revival, how would you use this verse to help them?

GETTING PERSONAL:

1. Does your soul need revival?  Why or why not?
2. Based on what we learned tonight, what are some steps you could take to experience revival in your life?

PRAYER

Pray for revival!!  Pray that healing which was begun at the Holy Spirit Weekend will continue in our lives.
