Cell Matters

Praying for a Nation

This week in our Life Groups, let's take Sunday's challenge to pray for our nation seriously. Let's actually do it! As a group, pray for our national leaders by name. Then, pray for our State leaders. Then pray for the local leaders of your town. Then pray for the other authorities in your life: Your boss, teachers, our pastors, etc.

Remember I Timothy 2:1-2 "I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercesion and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority..."

What can you pray for? I Timothy 2:4 tells us that God "wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." This is an excellent place to begin in prayer for our governing authorities. Even if we do not know anything specific about them, we can pray for them to know God's truth.
