OPENING QUESTIONS

1. Talk about a time when you got “worked over” by a salesman.  Any horror stories?  How did it turn out for you? 

DIGGING DEEPER:

1. READ Acts 5:1-11.
2. Were Ananias and Sapphira required to sell their land and give away the money? 
3. What was their sin?
4. What would Ananias and Sapphira gain by lying about the money they received?
5. Given that we all do bad things, why do you think God punished Ananias and Sapphira so severely?
6. Let’s suppose that they got away with their lie.  What could have resulted from this?
7. Verse 11 says that “Great fear” seized the church after this event.  Why?  What effect would this fear have on people?

GETTING PERSONAL:

1. When have you tried to “fake it” with regards to your spiritual condition?
2. Why did you fake it?
3. Thankfully, you did not get zap fried by God, but what consequences happen when we try to fake where we are spiritually?
4. What kinds of things hold us back from “full disclosure” of our spiritual condition?

PRAYER:

1. Pray for greater openness and transparency.
2. Pray for any needs/hurts that may have come up during tonight’s discussion.
3. Pray for your friends who do not yet know Jesus.
