“EYE witness”

OPENING QUESTIONS:

1. Have you ever witnessed a car crash?  What was it like?  (let folks tell their stories)

GETTING DEEPER:

1. READ Acts 3:1-19.
2. What do you think life was like for this crippled man?
3. When Peter told the crippled man that he did not have money, but he had something else, what might the crippled man have thought?
4. What kinds of obstacles did this crippled man have to overcome in order to receive his healing?
5. Verse 11 says that the newly healed beggar “held onto” Peter and John.  Why do you think he did this?
6. Verses 13-15 are kind of “in your face”.  How did the crowd respond to Peter’s strong accusations?  How would you have responded?
7. In verse 17, Peter lets the crowd off the hook.  Why was this necessary? 
8. Let’s read verse 19 again.  This is a beautiful verse!!  He tells them to “repent” and “turn to God”.  Are these two different things, or are they the same action?
9. Why does refreshing come after our sins are wiped out?
10. What are some ways that people try to get times of refreshing without going through repentance?  Why do we do this?

GETTING CLOSER:

1. What practical difference has the resurrection made in your own life? 
2. How deeply do you connect with the resurrection on an emotional level?  Do you sometimes feel distant from it, like it is not real?  Or do you feel strongly connected to it and moved by it?  How so?

PRAYER:

1. Pray for our friends who do not yet know Jesus as Savior.
