Got Pots?

“GOT POTS?”

Series title:  Heaven touches Earth, part 2

OPENING QUESTION:

1. What is the coolest miracle that you have ever witnessed? (the birth of your kids and your salvation don’t count!)

DIGGING DEEPER:

1. READ II Kings 4:1-7.
2. How desperate is this widow’s situation?
3. It was common for creditors to take children as slaves when their parents could not pay a debt.  Putting yourself in this widow’s shoes, how would it feel if this was happening to you?
4. Who do you think had greater faith, Elisha for telling the widow to collect jars, or the widow for actually doing it?
5. If you had been one of her neighbors, would you have given her a jar?  Why or why not?
6. What might she have been thinking as the oil kept coming out and filling jar after jar?

GETTING PERSONAL:

1. God filled as many jars as this woman was willing to get.  The only thing limiting God’s blessing was the number of jars she had.  On a ten scale, 1 being not much and 10 being a lot, how often do you experience the blessings of God?
2. What kinds of things prevent you from seeing God’s blessings in your life?
3. Invite someone in your group to share a story about a time in their life when they experienced a dramatic provision from God. (perhaps this will inspire faith in your group to trust God for more.)
4. What “pots” are you waiting for God to fill?

PRAYER TIME:

Use this time to minister to one another, inviting God to come and fill our “pots”.
