OPENING QUESTION:

1. Invite people to respond to the following statement:  “Our response to God influences our experience of God.”  Do they believe this to be true?  False?  Confusing? 

DIGGING DEEPER:

1. READ Matthew 13:1-23
2. What does the seed represent?
3. What “crop” is the seed supposed to produce in our lives?
4. What four types of soil does Jesus mention?  Who does each soil represent?
5. Why do some people respond to God’s Word negatively and others do so positively?

GETTING PERSONAL:

1. What is your typical response to God’s Word like? (Which soil are you?) 
2. Why do you respond to God’s Word in this way?
3. What has resulted from your response to God’s Word? 

PRAYER TIME:

            Let’s pray for one another.  Does anyone have a need?  It is useful to even gather around that person and lay hands on them in prayer.

LOOKING OUT:

            The Summer Kids Clubs are going on.  If your group is not hosting one, it would be great to offer to help someone else’s club. 

            The summer is a great time for a BBQ.  Plan a BBQ as a group and invite un-churched friends to join you.  It will be fun and you can have an excellent witness.
