OPENING QUESTIONS:
1. The rise of the internet has brought an explosion of information from the remotest parts of the earth. Do you think this is good for the cause of missions, or harmful? Why?
2. Have you ever gone on a "short term" mission trip? If so, please share one of the highlights from your experience.
DIGGING DEEPER:
1. READ Mark 16:15-20.
2. What challenge did Jesus give to His disciples?
3. Placing yourself in their shoes for a moment, what thoughts or fears might be racing through their minds as Jesus tells them to 'Go into all the world'?
4. What is the 'good news' that they are to preach?
5. Jesus said that signs would accompany their preaching. What purpose would this serve?
6. Some churches take verse 18 literally. They actually bring poisonous snakes into their meetings claiming that if you're genuine, you will not get hurt. (It sounds crazy, but it really has happened!!) What is Jesus saying here? How would you communicate the heart of what Jesus is saying?
7. Verse 20 is cool. God worked with them as they preached! Can you imagine, you are God's partner in this great Cause!
GETTING PERSONAL:
1. Jesus' command to 'Go' is still applicable to us. He has promised to go with us and to confirm our ministry with signs and wonders. Have you ever experienced signs and wonders as you minister to others?
2. Many people would say 'No' to the previous question. Why do you suppose this is?
3. Have you ever felt alone in your efforts to share the gospel in the world? What impact does this alone-ness have on your own soul?
PRAYER:
1. We need the power of God! Let's pray for it tonight. God is still doing miracles. Lately, a number of healings have taken place in our own church family. This is available to all of us. Jesus promised that signs would accompany those who believe. So let's believe Him for great things!!
