AMBUSHING JESUS
OPENING QUESTIONS:
1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how patient of a person are you? (perhaps we should ask spouses!)
2. Is there anything for which you are waiting right now? (a special letter, the publisher’s clearing house to come through, a new job, etc.)
DIGGING DEEPER:
1. READ Matthew 25:1-13.
2. We have ten bridesmaids. Five were foolish and five were wise. What was the primary difference between the two?
3. In this story, who does the bridegroom represent?
4. Who is represented by the wise virgins?
5. Who is represented by the foolish virgins?
6. Why did the groom not allow the foolish ladies to enter their wedding ceremony?
7. Jesus ends His story by urging us to “keep watch”. Why is keeping watch so vitally important? What are we watching for?
8. Take a look at Hebrews 9:27-28 to see the vital importance of keeping watch.
GETTING PERSONAL:
1. This lesson is about not giving up on Jesus. Have you ever been tempted to give up on Jesus? Why?
2. What helped to re-ignite your faith?
3. Or, perhaps you are still in that place of giving up. How can we help?
PRAYER:
If anyone has expressed personal struggles, it would be good to minister to them in prayer.
