OPENING QUESTIONS:

1. Of the different forms of government in our world today (democratic, republic, socialism, communism, etc.) Which do you think is the best?  Why?

DIGGING DEEPER:

1. READ Exodus 18.
2. From what we just read, how would you define Moses’ job description?
3. Why did Jethro tell Moses to change his system?
4. What thoughts might have gone through Moses’ mind as Jethro laid out his suggested plan?
5. How might the people have responded when Moses informed them of the new system? (A look at Deuteronomy 1:9-15 might help.)
6. Let’s review the qualifications for leadership that are listed in verse 21.  (Capable; Fear of God; Trustworthy; Hate dishonest gain; Appointed by their peers)  Is this list attainable for the average person?  Why or why not?

GETTING PERSONAL:

1. Let’s affirm one another.  Which of these five qualifications in verse 21 do you see exemplified in the people of your Life Group?
2. Which of these five qualifications do you personally need to work on? 
3. If you know of any men or women who exemplify all five of these character traits, be sure to send them a note, or call them to encourage them.

            Pray for one another and for your friends who do not yet know Jesus.
