OPENING QUESTION:

1. Describe one of the biggest changes in your life.  How did you navigate through that change? 

DIGGING DEEPER:

1. READ Joshua 1:1-9
2. Verse 2 begins with “Moses My servant is dead.”  How do you think this news struck Joshua?
3. From what you know of the story, how well prepared was Joshua to take the lead in Moses’ absence? 
4. In your own words, describe the kind of transition that Joshua and the people of were going through.  What kinds of things were going to change for them?  How was life in the Promised Land different from life in the desert?
5. What promises are given to Joshua? 
6. How do these promises address the feelings Joshua probably was experiencing?
7. What is necessary for success and prosperity?  What do you think God means here by ‘success’?

GETTING PERSONAL:

1. Which command given to Joshua would be the toughest for you to obey?  Why?
2. Are you in a transition right now?  How does Joshua’s example help you?

PRAYER

Pray specifically for those in your group who are in transition.  Ask for God to guide them and grant them peace as they follow Him through their tough time.
