Marital Status: Married to Karis (pron: “care-iss”) for 19 years.

Children: Katharine (19), Caston (16), and Karisa (15)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministries, Nyack College (New York City).

Hobbies: Refinishing antique furniture; bike riding. Doug also likes to roller skate, play basketball, water ski and snow ski.

Experience: During college, Doug worked with youth in Brooklyn who were involved in street gangs. After college, Doug began a youth ministry in Paramus New Jersey that reached a wide range of people, from stock brokers on the NYSE to AIDS patients. Following his work in New Jersey, Doug moved to the small town of Punxsutawney, PA to begin a youth ministry in a church. This ministry grew from 4 kids to almost 100 kids during the six years that Doug was there. That church asked Doug to consider serving as their Senior Pastor which he agreed to do. God blessed the church under his ministry. The church grew from an average attendance of 290 to almost 400 each Sunday morning. Not one to sit for very long in comfort, Doug began to think about starting a church. In January of 1997, he and his family moved to South Windsor, CT with the plan to start a church designed just for people who have either never been to church or who do not have a regular church “home”.

Doug's favorite topic is Jesus.  At the age of 15, he was ambushed by the message of Hebrews 2:11 where Jesus invited him to become His "kid" brother. This is the core of Doug's life message.  He desires for everyone to have an encounter with Jesus and to know Him in an intimate way.
