Nursery Workers Guidelines

(Of course, this is just a guideline - we all know that babies are wonderfully unpredictable!)

Before service:

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of service to set up and welcome babies and parents.

Babies love routine and recognize familiar faces, sounds and scents so we have come up with some things that can help as we do not have the same caregivers week after week:

*Please spray a squirt of baby scent Lysol in the room so the babies start to identify it

       with their happy nursery time!

*A music player will be provided to play age-appropriate music.  As the babies arrive

we will play 'welcome' music.  If you would like to bring in your own music please feel

free.  Remember our focus is on Jesus!

*After the babies have arrived, please open up the nursery in prayer.  Pray for any

children who might be absent.  Pray for a time of nurturing for the babies and that the

parents would enjoy their time of worship konwing their babies are well taken care of.

During service:

     *Have Bible story time

     *Play a developmentally appropriate game

*Play - babies love pretending with the nursery toys

*Make sure to check diapers during and toward the end of service

*Potty trainers may need a potty break!

     *Cuddle, cuddle, cuddle!

At the end of service:

*Please close the nursery in prayer.  Pray for protection over our families during the

      week.

*Clean up should begin 10 minutes before the end of each service.  All toys must be

wiped down between services and after second service.

*Make sure all babies are reunited with the parent or other adult designated to pick up

      the child.
