The New River Church Deacons coordinate many ministries.
Here is an overview of some of these ministries.
Good Samaritan Fund: The GSF is NRCC's benevolent fund. From the generosity of the NRCC community, the funds are made available to people who find themselves in a tight financial situation. If you or someone you know has a need, the GSF may be able to help. The GSF is used to meet various types of needs such as: rent, utilities, oil, food, etc. Checks are written to meet such needs and never to "cash" or the requestor directly. The GSF is available to anyone. Requests are handled confidentially and the account is maintained by the deacons. Should you have a request, please contact the deacons directly. Click here for the application form. Please consider contributing to the GSF as part of your regular offering.
Hospitality: The Hospitality Ministry consists of a team of dedicated brothers and sisters who work behind the scenes to make Sunday celebrations happen. Our mission is to welcome people into our NRCC family. The Hospitality Ministry works to connect new people with established brothers and sisters in the faith. If you would like to get involved, contact Josie at email@example.com
Mercy: Are you deeply moved when you hear about the suffering of others? The Mercy Ministry functions to "love on" our brothers and sisters in Christ via acts of service. Team members donate their time to others during difficult times in their lives. Acts of service include: hospital visits, helping people move, car care, making meals and coordinating the meal train. This list is just the beginning of what God can do among His people. Consider showing mercy to another today.
Food Pantry: NRCC stocks a food panty in an effort to obey Jesus "for I was hungry and you gave me food..." Matthew 25:35. The food pantry is stocked via a collection taken up by the congregation. Donated items may be placed in the church kitchen. The Food Pantry items are available to anyone in need. There is no formal request to make or any forms to complete. Food may be picked up at any time at the church during normal business hours. The deacons would also like to encourage you to come by the food pantry, prepare a bag of food and be a blessing to someone you might know who is in need. Click here for a list of current food pantry needs.
If you have any questions, needs, or would like to become involved with any of these ministries, please contact a deacon by calling today.
